A very warm welcome to the 2015/16 season with Bromley and Beckenham Hockey Club, which sees us complete 10 years as the merged club, and for which we are looking to celebrate in style both on and off the pitch.
We kick off this Saturday August 22nd with a Club Day at Langley Park Boys School. This is open to all and the details can be found on the website. There has been plenty of work behind the scenes this summer as we endeavour to fill coaching and captaincy positions across the Club. Mens 1s are currently interviewing candidates to replace Jason Lee who is unable to commit to the Club this season. We hope to make an appointment shortly allowing preparation time for what promises to be another tough campaign in National League East. We have attracted several new players at 1st and 2nd XI levels, which will help strengthen the Mens section throughout.
The Ladies 1 are looking to benefit from the continuity gained from having David Evans at the helm once again, and are finalising recruitment of an overseas player to put us in a strong position to push for promotion to the National League.
The Men will run 9 sides this season; 1s to 7s, Vets and Super Vets. We were unable to field a 3rd XI for the second half of last season and had to drop out of the League. This season we are confident that there are sufficient players but we currently don’t have a captain. If you are prepared to help out in any way please contact Dan Blackman.
The Ladies have captains for all 5 sides and we welcome Charlotte Ridout and Laura Skinner as joint Ladies club captains for the season.
This season we are introducing an incentive scheme for members to introduce new players. This will take the form of a £40 credit for the introducing member against match fees. Full conditions and the new member form can be found on the website.
